The responsibilities of the post include support of the marketing, recruitment and admissions activities undertaken by the International Office for the University as a whole, as well as the development and operational management of international marketing and recruitment for the Americas. Managing the International Admissions team, a team of five members of staff within the International Office that oversee the international undergraduate admissions process for the University. This involves overseeing the processing of over 8,000 undergraduate applications each academic year via UCAS, the Common Application and direct, managing over 35,000 international prospect and applicant enquiries per year, working with colleagues in the Student Recruitment and Admissions Office and academic departments to improve information and the services provided to international applicants and to increase the uptake of offers of both undergraduate and postgraduate applicants including meeting recruitment targets for undergraduate and postgraduate income-generating students, contributing to the enrolment of nearly 2000 international students annually, and meeting a conversion target rate of 20% for undergraduate students.

Managing the online Visa and Immigration service including the online visa appointment booking service and assisting students with visa and immigration activities including providing advice and guidance about renewing an international student visa, applying for work schemes, and processing visa applications through the Batch Scheme. This also involved any follow up work resulting from the submission of a student’s application. Managing and organising support to international students before and during their period of study in liaison with various University colleges and departments. This included the organisation of the International Student Induction Programme for students coming to study at Queen’s Campus, Stockton, as well as assisting with the planning and delivery of the programme in Durham City.
