A student recently told me, “I never thought I was going to be good at math. You have changed the way I see math, and I feel strong now.” For 30 years, it’s been those students who have inspired me to teach and dedicate my career to educational excellence for all students. The combination of my experience in K-12 education, my curriculum and teaching expertise in mathematics and English as a Second Language, coaching experience, and personal stake in creating an equitable environments make me a great fit for any position. I have taught all grade levels, from preschool Exceptional Education to 12th grade, as well as several college level courses in Holocaust studies. My current teaching certificate includes: English as a Second Language, Exceptional Student Education (ESE), Elementary Education, Gifted education, and Middle Grades Mathematics. I have taken four master’s level courses in Montessori education methodology. I am a clinical educator certified teacher. I have trained over 30 student teachers during my 30 years of teaching. All the teachers I have trained were able to become employed as professional teachers.
