Albuquerque, New Mexico Area

I tried out a research position at an institute after finishing my postdoc. I set up a biosafety-level-3 lab to continue my research on the deadly pathogen, Mycobacterium tuberculosis. I also expanded my repretoire of pathogens (and collaborators) by studying how a related bacteria, Mycobacterium abscessus, switches the fats on its coat to trick its human.

I performed research on the how the world's deadliest bacterium, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, causes inflammation and disease. I worked in the group of Prof. David Russell in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology. I created a new model to see how individual molecules from the bacteria could trick the host's immune system into overreacting.

Greater St. Louis Area

My post-doc was with Professor David Russell's group. I learned how to isolate individual molecules from the coat of the world's deadliest pathogen, Mycobacterium tuberculosis. And I developed new ways to measure how those molecules cause the disease, tuberculosis (TB).
