• Standardizing and collaborating with colleagues on the metadata in ContentDM and Aviary for the preparation of crosswalking it into the new DAMS system• Reviewing and editing ArchiveSpace collections that needs improvement or information that is not present

Processing and organizing government state record collections. Cataloging collections into ArchivesSpace and Alma for retention and public reference. Updating OCLC catalog of accessions that have been added to Alma, producing an accurate and current scope of the collection. Combing through backlog of collections that were cataloged into Alma but not into ArchiveSpace, then updating/adding missing ArchivesSpace finding aids.

Organizing and maintaining cleanliness of the retail space. Greeting customers and providing service to their needs or questions about the products. Collaborating in new ways to store back-stock products to be easily findable during peak periods of the year and when items are not in season.

During the course of this internship, I cataloged and processed several collections to OCLC Connexion and PastPerfect Museum Software. Handling and organizing materials from veterans of Wisconsin from the Civil War to World War II. I also extensively researched biographical and military information for the finding aids and catalog entries that is connected to the materials and to the veteran. Due to COVID-19, much of my work had to be done at home and manage my time at the State Archives Preservation Facility wisely.

During this yearlong project, I assessed the current layout of the catalog and gave recommendations to improve processing, arrangement, and access for student and staff workers. Consulted with UW-Green Bay Head Archivist and Richter Museum Curator, and decided to migrate the old catalog to PastPerfect Museum Software for the benefit of quick retrieval of information and controlled filing format.

The Viking House is a replica of a style of Norwegian architecture that a Wisconsin couple, Owen and Elspeth Christianson. They later donated the building to UW-Green Bay in Fall 2017. The house was disassembled and brought to the campus during the academic Fall term in 2018. I assisted in cataloging the pieces of the structure into Omeka Classic. Building a metadata list and inputing that into the catalog. Working with the Viking House team, I helped draft presentation ideas for the system-wide University of Wisconsin Symposium in April 2018.

Working with the UW-Green Bay's website management system, Kentico, I lead and drafted website format and text for the Viking House webpage. I used Adobe Photoshop to change the size of images. Working collaboratively and doing freelance, I prepared images, articles, videos, and event announcements involving the Viking House on the website.

During the course of the academic semester of 2017 to May 2018, I was an coder for the String of Pearls Project, or the Sweeney Todd Project. The goal of the project was to annotate and provide access to, the complete story of the 1950 text of "The String of Pearls" by James Malcolm Rymer (1814-84). I encoded five chapters during this time: 25 ; 45 ; 60 ; 62 ; and 63. I also proofread and transcribed scanned images of my assigned chapters that were located on the crowdsourcing transcription platform, FromThePage. I did extensive research in unfamiliar phrases, poems, words, and locations that were brought up in the chapters for annotation. In April 2018 at the system-wide University of Wisconsin Symposium, I presented a one hour poster take about the project and the future goals for this project. I also assisted in teaching TEI guidelines and XML encoding language to Dr. Rebecca Nesvet's class, who were all new to coding.

I processed and scanned 300 photographs into PastPerfect and to be digitally stored on the Museum's servers. I cataloged and organized three analog general collections for storage. I wrote a condition's report of a fallen object in the permanent display cabinet in the Museum. With the rest of the museum staff, I put up and cleaned the gallery space of the “Permian Monsters: Life Before Dinosaurs” Exhibition.
