The 2014 Special Olympics USA Games was a seven-day national event that consisted of 16 Olympic style sports, 11 locations (including Prudential Center, universities and private schools) 3,500 athletes, 1,000 coaches, close to 10,000 family members, 8,000 volunteers and 350 certified officials. Highlights include:➢ Every state in the continental USA was represented. ➢ The event took place between two media capitals of the world.➢ Every state was represented by one Law Enforcement officer, on one of the three Torch Run legs that covered miles and miles of the Garden State with each leg carrying the Flame of Hope and two Special Olympics athletes also carried the Torch on each leg. The Flame of Hope was part of presentations at key locations such at Founding Partner Headquarters.
Consultant - Event Manager Lincoln Tunnel Challenge 5K
Consultant for Special Olympics New Jersey that worked closely with the Law Enforcement Department on one of their largest fundraisers known as the Lincoln Tunnel Challenge 5K. Significant highlights include the increase of participants and funds raised each given year with the fourth year witnessing over 3,500 participants and $225,000 going to the organization. Oversaw event logistics and management from helping build a timeline of best practices from beginning tasks to post event wrap up for four years on this very successful fundraiser. As a consultant, areas of responsibilities include but not limited too; increasing the awareness of the organization's mission, registration, marketing, budgets, learning and becoming proficient with Kintera/Blackbaud, reports, fundraising incentives, sponsors, recruiting volunteers, and working with a diverse committee of 20 individuals. During the final months as consultant, mentored a new colleague while also making the transition into a new position with the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games.
