As the Director of state and local policy, I lead the development and implementation of Enterprise's Southeast policy agenda with a focus on Georgia and Florida and secondary in other Southeast states. Enterprise is a national nonprofit dedicated to increasing the supply of affordable housing, advancing racial equity, and building resilience and upward mobility in communities across the country.

- Research Georgia Hospital Authorities Law, the Certificate of Need program, and the Hospital Acquisition Act to develop a policy framework to keep providers where they are needed, reduce disparities in access, and prevent destabilizing hospital closures- Analyze healthcare policy legislation and monitor legislative committee hearings

Healthcare Georgia Foundation is an independent non-profit organization working towards a Georgia in which all people have the opportunity to attain their fullest potential for health.

- Represented self-funded employer healthcare plans governed by ERISA, their fiduciaries, and plan participants in healthcare reimbursement disputes- Counseled clients on matters related to provider billing practices and claims- Defended individuals who have been balance billed by medical providers under consumer protection laws, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act- Conducted case law and statutory research and provided guidance on developments in the law impacting our clients, including the federal No Surprises Act- Negotiated settlements of healthcare claims and drafted settlement agreements- Analyzed cost and reimbursement data; reviewed contracts and plan documents

I prepared cases on the Judge’s juvenile delinquency docket in the Family Court Division, drafted orders, conducted legal research, and drafted a review opinion in a child neglect case.

I wrote an illegal eviction complaint containing tort claims and an ADA discrimination claim that resulted in a large settlement for the client. I successfully represented a client at a public housing hearing and prepared witnesses to give testimony.

As an intern in the public benefits unit, I composed research memos and wrote a Social Security overpayment waiver denial appeal.

I conducted research and wrote grant proposals to local foundations to obtain the funding necessary for Advocacy Inc. to serve lower income clients in New Mexico seeking legal guardianships and adoptions.

I provided support to shareholders in the firm’s Labor & Employment practice group and the Immigration practice group.

I served as a representative for sellers at real estate closings and prepared title search and deed packages.
