Over the past summer, I completed an internship with PGG Wrightson/Fruitfed Supplies, working in the kiwifruit industry. I worked alongside a team conducting trials and analysing data regarding pest and disease control, and product efficacy. This role required a lot of attention to detail when collecting and inputting data. I also prepared a report and presentation and presented it to company leaders at the head office. This role prepared me well for the workforce and allowed me to develop my communication and analytical skills.

I worked in retail part-time for the Cotton On Group. I delivered good customer service and had to reach KPI targets for the company each day. I was responsible for keeping the stores tidy and providing a good experience for customers. I had to be very detail-oriented as I was responsible for counting and banking the money at the end of each day.

This was another seasonal role I took on. This was a very detail-oriented role as I was responsible for testing kiwifruit for various measurements. This included learning to use and calibrate specific devices to ensure we got the correct measurements. I worked with a big group of people, this allowed me to develop more patience and interpersonal skills. In this role, it was crucial to be adaptable, use and learn new technology quickly and work in a team environment. This required accurate data entry.

This was a seasonal role working on the farm. It required organisational skills to ensure that everything was done well and to a high standard. The job included looking after and providing correct feed to animals. This job allowed me to improve my observation skills as I had to be paying attention to everything around me. I developed my skills for working with others and it allowed me to become a better and harder worker.
