I'm a Native woman of Salish descent whose cultural heritage was colonized to near complete erasure. My husband is a Black man and we have teenage children who are learning to love themselves and live proudly as Black-presenting, Afro-Indigenous people in the world. My why is my family and using my white-presenting privilege to fight for access and inclusion for all people and communities is my purpose.I love all things art and adventure, which I believe is why I have found success and fulfillment in my career (+ ethics, integrity, optimism, humor, etc.) despite the challenges of being a bull in cabinet of old, expensive dishes.
