I continued to develop my research and content-creation skills through my role as a freelance copywriter. I was responsible for fully researching, creating and editing material for promotional and informative purposes, including press releases, blog posts, product listings, and website pages across a range of industries. I was responsible for managing my deadlines and projects and I curated an outcome-focused writing process to create result-driven SEO content that is designed to deliver the best results for all my clients.

I assisted in planning and implementing client campaigns ranging from press releases and blogs to email campaigns and social media content. The B2B focus of this role required me to develop my copywriting, proof-writing and editorial skills as well as requiring an in-depth understanding of a range of marketing services, including; marketing strategy and proposals, building brand identity, social media, Search Engine Optimisation, website builds and analysis & reporting. I have also managed the social media of several high-profile companies including Performance Adhesives Limited, Install Protect and Door Data Systems, as well as designing and implementing the initial social presence of FrameFit Ltd and Swift FX Ltd.

During my time with this award-winning organisation I have gained experience in multiple areas including public liaison, events management and risk assessment. My role involves being responsible for my team, supervising health and safety measures and managing large-scale, live events. I have worked with a broad range of the public, including young children and young adults and I am able to work effectively independently, as part of a team, or in a leadership role. My time working in this fast-paced professional environment has taught me the importance of accountability and working in a team and has helped me develop a good work ethic with a drive to succeed. I am also a founding member of the Get It Loud Academy, the branch of the organisation which aims to introduce young people into careers in event management and promotion, which was launched in 2016 and won the Creative Choice Award at the 2018 CCS Awards.

North West England

Through my work with WiganSTEAM I have gained experience working with young people and children of all ages, awareness of health and safety procedures, and planning and delivering creative educational sessions in child-friendly environments. I have also had key roles in several large-scale events and festivals delivered by the organisation, such as STEAMFEST in 2015, The STEAM Manga Arts Festival in 2016 and the 2019 Wigan Pride. I have also helped to facilitate multiple day-long events in schools, working with up to 120 children a day. During the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown period I worked to produce and deliver interactive online activities, such as several live-streamed workshops and interactive learning sessions, to continue delivering our outreach during the lockdown.

I was selected to be a member of the first Cohort of Young Associates with the North West bridge-organisation Curious Minds. I have received extensive training in areas such as interaction with the public, securing funding, safeguarding and project management within the arts and culture sector. I have also received training to mentor the next cohort of Young Associates and a full safeguarding background check. During my time as an Associate I worked with Curious Minds employees at events such as an arts careers event at Bolton University, managing around 200 children and arts sector professionals. Myself and other members of the original Curious Minds Associates team are currently working on developing an organisation framework to engage young people in careers in the creative sector.
