As a freelance multimedia journalist, I'm passionate about leading expeditions to unearth stories on environmental and social injustice.I’ve been published in leading international news outlets, such as Mongabay and The Ecologist, reporting on the complex social, economic, political and environmental issues facing marginalised communities living in some of the most biodiverse places on Earth. With over 10 years’ experience working in communications with a network of international conservation organisations, I’ve successfully raised substantial funds for environmental protection and biodiversity conservation. I provide communications consultancy and deliver services for clients, such as BirdLife International and the World Land Trust.

By managing all aspects of communications and fundraising, I successfully increased the charity's income by over three-fold within the first 12 months. This achievement has enabled Plant Your Future to significantly increase their capacity and impact to restore the Amazon Rainforest across Peru. Plant Your Future works with disadvantaged communities to enable them to plant native trees on their degraded land and increase their income through sustainable tree-based agriculture. This model of agroforestry is improving livelihoods and increasing food security, while mitigating climate change and tackling biodiversity loss.

By filming and directing an independent documentary, I produced a media campaign on indigenous rights and biodiversity conservation in the Amazon. The documentary has been screened at film festivals worldwide - including the prestigious Tampere Film Festival - while the Impact Campaign is creating on-the-ground action for social and environmental justice.

Peru

Working at a research station in the Amazon, I created and delivered a Multimedia Internship so that students and early career starters could gain on-the-ground experience, while receiving training and mentorship from professionals. This experiential educational programme is a three month course that provides hands-on training in media skills and career development within environmental journalism and communications.
