Amongst other things, I schedule and carry out enrolment meetings for perspective students and complete their individual student record and support documents and upload them onto the database. I schedule the planned course sessions onto the database and ZOOM accounts and then book students onto the sessions at their request. I have co-created and co-delivered a training course and support material for staff members. Frequently I take on the role of Course Mentor acting as the main point of contact for students and to provide emotional and technical support for the students if they need it. Additionally, I am in charge of creating the College’s social media content as well as helping create and write articles for other promotional material such as newsletters and prospectuses.

I worked on the Mother and Baby Unit, the Eating disorders Unit, the Dementia ward and the Older Adult Mental Health ward. This involved ensuring that the wards remained secure and safe at all times, COVID-19 regulations were being followed, performing health check-ups (which involved taking and recording patients’ blood pressure, oxygen levels and weight), performing general, 1:1 and 2:1 observations of at-risk patients and completing the relevant observation documents afterwards. I also assisted the patients in day-to-day activities including eating, looking after the babies, washing, getting dressed, going to the toilet/emptying catheter bags and walking.

During my placement I developed and delivered online training packages to current staff, delivered in-person courses to students, individually delivered multiple live streamed events to the whole of the MPFT, organised and hosted online social events for the college and held Zoom support sessions. I also conducted enrolment meetings to create individual student records and support plans, took on the role of Course Mentor during many of the online courses, acting as the students’ main point of contact for support, I gathered, inputted, and shared feedback to improve future courses and events, and I also wrote articles for the termly newsletter and prospectus. In addition to this, I set up a new social media page and created the content for all social media pages for the college.

Enforced high standards of behaviour from the students, with help from colleagues, so that a positive atmosphere was created so that all pupils could enjoy their lunch break. Trained in how to spot signs of neglect, what to do and who to contact if there had been concerns. I was also DBS checked which enabled me to work with younger students.

I Organised and lead different sporting activities for the different ages and abilities in the various schools that were worked in (this included working in special needs schools). I Taught PE lessons, lunch clubs and after school clubs, assisted in running a Sports Hall Athletics competition and entered the results into spreadsheets that I had previously created.
