Learning Officers play a key role in helping raise awareness of knowledge of wildlife conservation to the Park’s guests both on and offsite. This is done through the delivery of a range of formal learning sessions such as hands on Discovery Sessions, guided walks, guided tours and outreach sessions (primarily to school audiences, but also includes pre-school, college and university groups), informal learning activities including Friendly Animal Encounters, African Village Encounters, craft sessions and fundraising activities.

Working at an outdoor education centre delivering educational sessions and field trips on various environmental science subjects to 6 – 18 year olds. All sessions are linked to the national curriculum and are adapted to each group’s needs. I also helped deliver the activity programme when they were no educational groups.

Working at a US summer camp as a supervisor for 9 weeks organising and implementing camping trips for groups of up to 70 people, ranging in age from 8 – 13. Directly supervising my team of staff while also being involved in the running of the camps day to day running, safety and welfare of the campers.
