The Children's Advocacy Centers of New Mexico (CACs of NM), formerly known as the New Mexico Children's Safehouse Network is an accredited State Chapter of National Children’s Alliance. As an accredited agency, we operate in accordance with nationally defined best practice standards and consistently strive to deliver superior services. Our mission is to improve New Mexico's community response to child abuse. The CACs of NM functions to provide training and support existing Safehouses/ Children's Advocacy Centers in New Mexico as well as to support New Mexico communities in establishing multidisicplinary teams and Children's Advocacy Centers. The Network is dedicated to serve children who have been abused or neglected or witnesses to violence.

San Juan County has many programs including, but not limited to: community based programs, community health programs, law enforcement funding, Driving While Impaired funding, capital outlay projects. Job duties: Manage legislative, as well as federally appropriated money for the county. Maintain accountability with state and federal agencies on administration of all programs as fiscal agent. Participation in Community Health Improvement Council and Community Driving While Impaired Task Force. Invoice all expenditures as well as narrative reports on a strict deadline. Maintain contract records and assist with all state and federal Audits per OMB Circular 133-A. Balance all appropriated funds monthly. Yearly budget preparation, as well as budget adjustments throughout fiscal year for all appropriated funds. Prepare summaries and present grant applications to county commission and all area city councils. Governmental accounting followed along GAAP. Works closely with federal, state and local governmental departments and tri-city agencies to facilitate a smooth process of grant expenditures. Successful grant writing.

San Juan Center for Independence is a community based non-profit established by people with disabilities for people with disabilities. Job duties: Manage all state contracts, including organization and administering. Track and record consumer numbers for billing invoices, monthly and quarterly reports for contracts; prepare monthly and quarterly reports on strict deadline. Maintain contract records and assist with audits of contracts. Assisting Chief Financial Officer with posting of debits and credits, recording all transactions and reconciliation of accounts. Maintaining and preparing budgets for all departments. Maintain and train staff on Access based Data Collection Software. Oversee all departments and their monthly outcome, some Human Resources with the hiring and firing of employees, and some training in Human Resources. Training received on OSHA compliance. Travel to Satellite Center monthly to assist with training for all departments. As this was a new position, the need to find vacation and sick leave accrual was necessary to input into our financial software. As a fiscal agent, oversee the applications for IRS Federal Employer Identification Numbers, SS-4’s and 1080’s; helping attendants with timesheets, employment verifications and background checks.
