Hey there! đź‘‹ I'm Bethany. I'm a writer, an editor, a designer, a dog lover, and a bibliophile. Professionally, I come from a journalism background, and I'm currently working in digital media. The website I work on gets over 30 million pageviews per month, so keeping readers engaged and coming back for more is my specialty. To do that, I prioritize clean copy, factual information, and a visually stunning product.But I love to try out new things! Let's talk, and see what we can come up with together.As far as professional experience, I've spent the last four years at Salem Web Network, honing my skills as an editor and designer. I am constantly testing the site's UX, looking for ways to make things more user friendly and smooth. Uploading new content and getting articles that respond to hot topics is also a big priority, so I'm regularly sending assignments to my freelance team. As needed, I'm quick to hop on InDesign or Photoshop to get some visually appealing images and booklets out to our readers. I love to write, and since two of my articles were in the top three we posted last year (out of hundreds) I'd say our readers like me too.Before that, I was on the night shift at the Daily Press and the Virginian-Pilot, working to those tight newspaper deadlines and fact-checking *everything.* I'm comfortable getting an entire newspaper edited, designed, and printed on deadline. And if journalism taught me anything, it was to make sure something was done right the first time. But by far my favorite part of this job was the creative aspect.
