At 14, I started helping my mom at her Leasing Agent job. I would file, finish up maintenance request forms, enter guest cards, among other things so that we could enjoy more time together. When I turned 18 the same apartment leasing office hired me to work part-time, and in 2010 I went full time. I continued to lease apartments successfully setting many national leasing records month after month. I had my second son at 24 and I decided that I needed to be home on weekends. I moved into corporate real estate and worked at Citi Mortgage for their Communications Department. In 2009 when I had my third son, our family moved to a farm in Mabank Texas. At that time I decided working closer to home with my three sons would be best. I was able to work full time at Cain Center in Athens Texas. At Cain Center I was responsible for every operation except for accounting, and maintenance of the building. After 5 years of 60 to 80 hour work weeks, and helping my father launch a company, the Cain Center was purchased by the City of Athens to be used as the new City Hall. I was laid off with about 20 other employees. When my son's school approached me at the end of the summer in 2014 about a paraprofessional position, I jumped at the opportunity to work at the school with my children. I decided to go back to school while I worked at the elementary school. In 2015, Good 2 Go hired me to help them part time with sales of team sports wear. In August of 2017 I moved to Midlothian, and I was also hired at Venus Elementary as an Inclusion Aid while still pursuing my Associates Degree. In March of 2018, Good 2 Go made me a full time manager over their sales team. I earned my Associate of Arts in Kinesiology shortly after, and was accepted to TAMU-Commerce in August of 2018. Currently I am pursuing my BSBA online at TAMU-Commerce, and work at Good 2 Go as the Sales Office Manager. Life is sweet!
