- Awarded John S Fossey Equality Diversity and Inclusion Award 2024 by the Chemistry Department, University of Birmingham- Liaised between Postgraduate students and EDI committee members within the School of Chemistry. - Developed inclusive post-seminar chatrooms, connecting students with visiting speakers, without the presence of academics. Providing a safe/comfortable environment for students to ask questions freely without supervision or external pressures. - Contributed to the organisation of EDI-based seminars within the School of Chemistry.- Constructed a survey to investigate weaknesses in EDI and Mental Health facilities within the postgraduate and postdoctoral research community.- Identified areas of improvement within the community and developed strategies to action the results presented by the survey. - Working alongside the Head of Teaching Laboratories to construct a compulsory EDI-based teaching course for undergraduate laboratory demonstrators. 3-month full time summer placement. Continuation of masters project research into the structure-activity relationships of quinolines (antimalarials) using an artificial biomembrane screening platform developed at the University of Leeds. Optimisation and validation of platform to promote to industrial partners the platform’s HTS capabilities. Supervised international MSc student for duration of their laboratory work. Taught them how to operate the screening platform as well as reviewed and assisted them with their report writing.EU funded project through SABYDOMA. Under the supervision of Professor Andrew Nelson, Dr William Stokes and Dr Joshua Owen.

- Analytical experience in RP-HPLC analysis. Developed multiple chromatography methods (isocratic, step and gradient) for APIs, covering a range of chemistries. Perfecting my dexterity through the production of dilutions and calibrations standards, of great quantity and quality.- Excellent written communication skills by documenting experiments clearly and carefully.- Planned and executed a collection of API stability tests, in accordance with ICH guidelines. - Proficient laboratory technician, practising a high standard of health and safety under COSHH regulations. As well as completing numerous risk assessments for the use of actives and specialised equipment within the laboratory. - Collected data to support the launch of new products; directly advertised to customers.- Active member within a technical team of 6, cooperating effectively within group discussions/projects. Alongside suggesting new project ideas and marketing techniques. - Collaborated with the Diversity & Inclusions team to prepare materials in educating staff about discrimination within the workplace; including posters, presentations and the organisation of webinars presented by an external spokesperson. - STEM Ambassador: volunteered at local schools to promote the importance of chemistry and encourage pupils to peruse a career in science.- Practical experience in particle size analysis, rheology and surface tension analysis.
