• Taught environmental education classes to students of grades 4-12, special needs groups, and Elderhostel/Road Scholar groups; group sizes ranged from 10 to 60• Taught skills such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, canoeing, map & compass, and fire building• Reviewed grants for the Wisconsin Environmental Education Board • Organized skull, pelt, and mount collections; created inventory lists• Handled and cared for various education animals (raptors, snakes, salamanders, mice, and turtles) as well as used these animals in programs• Chaperoned high school-aged students during their non-class time• Developed summer programing for all ages • Wrote articles for Northbound newspaper

• Conducted guided tours and gave informational talks detailing the biological background and environmental requirements for each animal exhibit• Guided hikes on the preserve’s surrounding trails identifying flora and fauna • Designed and organized week long children’s camps (ages 4 to 13). Camp leadership included running multi-day projects, preparing age-appropriate crafts, and planning snacks with consideration given to food allergies of youth• Designed/conducted overnight programs for scout troops and children’s camps which included night time tours of the zoo to view nocturnal animals, owl calling, and owl pellet dissection• Directed youth stream studies to capture and identify aquatic macro-invertebrates• Handled and presented animals including tarantulas, snakes, ferrets, hedgehogs and raptors
