I am a chemical engineering student at the Singapore Institute of Technology.During the final year of my diploma studies, I got the chance to take part in a three-month internship as an Engineering Assistant at one of the R&D companies based in Singapore. I was grateful to be provided with the opportunity to apply the knowledge and hands-on skills I acquired during my studies at my internship.As an Engineering Assistant, I was part of a development team designing and testing fire retardant coatings for our customers. I was tasked to carry out the tests and collect the results and any observations during the duration of the test to determine if the requirements were met.Apart from an internship, I also got the chance to do a three-month final-year project. During the project, I was tasked to create a prototype that can help people in the Biomedical industry. As part of my project, I got the chance to do different sample preparations and testing, such as 3D printing, Tensile testing, and Thermogravimetric analysis.
