I am proud to be part of the Blue Eco Homes team as a carpenter, an industry leader in sustainable and passive house construction, I have learned and applied skills such as prefabrication, blower door testing, and passive house performance and installation, working on multiple projects that meet the highest standards of energy efficiency and environmental performance.I am also committed to creating positive change in the construction sector, by advocating for trade careers, mentoring high school students, and participating in committees and working groups. I especially want to encourage anyone who falls into being a “non-traditional” industry member, such as women and minorities, to pursue their passion and potential in this field. Thanks to my dedication, communication, and problem-solving abilities, I have been recognized with several awards, including the 2023 HIA Australian Apprentice of the Year HIA-CSR at the National Australian Housing Awards This is a great honor and validation of the hard work I have put into my craft and my advocacy. I have completed my Cert iii in carpentry at CWBTS, and have just commenced my Certificate IV in Building and Construction with HIA. I have obtained my certification as a passive house tradesperson at Passive House Institute, becoming qualified in blower door testing. And recently obtained my test and tag qualificationI am eager to continue learning, growing, and contributing to the sustainable and passive house movement.
