For the past decade, I have been working within the social services field, dipping my toes in many different areas. I enjoy learning and growing, being provided an environment where I can do so. If I feel stuck or unable to grow, I will find a new position to do just that. I have worked hard to gain the knowledge and ability to work with many different vulnerable populations. After graduating with my BS in Psychology, I started as a DSP with teenagers experiencing behavioral and mental health concerns. I then transitioned into HI work, where I assisted children 1:1 with behavior interventions as well as communicated with and trained parents. Through each position, I have developed more knowledge in communication and compassion for others. After taking some time due to personal reasons, I began working with housing assistance. I loved the challenge of finances and being able to work with/explain each unique situation to the clients I worked with. In every job I have help, I have received praise from my clients on my compassion, patience, and ability to teach difficult concepts. I am always willing to explain a process or idea multiple different times if needed to ensure the understanding of the individual I am working with. It is important that I take the time needed for each client I assist. I transitioned out of housing as I made the decision to pursue my master's in clinical mental health counseling. I worked with the pediatrics team to assist families in accessing community supports and resources, however the position came to a natural conclusion during the summer of 2023. I am excited to learn and grow as I attend graduate school and learn a new career as well. I hope to be a part of a team that is supportive, a little crazy, and ultimately hardworking with the same pursuit of excellence that I have. In each job that I have held, I have risen to the top quickly with my wit and fast learning.
