I am an experienced and values-driven communications professional with a passion for impactful communication that supports research, community and organisational goals. I see effective communications as integral to driving structural change across any sector. I am especially passionate about foregrounding Indigenous knowledge and decolonising Australia's research and communications practices. Currently working as Communications Officer in Monash University's Fire to Flourish program (through Monash Sustainable Development Institute), I am producing impactful communications in partnership with communities affected by the 2019/2020 Australian bushfire season. We are working with local community and Indigenous leaders to build a new model of community-led disaster resilience, amplified through strong partnerships and backed by research. I have ten years' experience in research, publishing, media and communications at reputable organisations, including Natural Hazards Research Australia, the Bushfire and Natural Hazards Cooperative Research Centre, Penguin Random House Australia, The Conversation, the University of Melbourne and the University of Newcastle.
