Responsibilities include: • Assisting and advising on firm pitches and pitch documents; • Working with leading lawyers to improve and implement the pitch process; • Assisting Head of Marketing with devising and implementing the marketing strategy; • Identifying areas of improvement within the Firm’s current marketing; • Production and distribution of marketing literature, including brochures, pitch documents, eBulletins and lawyer bios; • Proof reading and writing marketing copy and press releases; • Using CRM database, InterAction to manage contact data and create and monitor marketing lists; • Running reports to monitor client activities; • Website CMS administration including adding and editing press releases, publications and eBulletins and using HTML skills; • Analysing the current client base to provide detailed intelligence to inform the firms new marketing strategy;• Coordinating and organising the seminar events programme from start to finish, and analysing their success through creating feedback reports and promoting follow-up; • Targetted mailings to clients and monitoring the open and click through rates to optimise readership; • Dealing with new business enquiries and potential new clients; • Moderating the company profile on the intranet, website, blogs and on Linked In, providing training and assistance to lawyers when needed; • Managing each practice group’s expenses and marketing/business development budgets; • Assisting the Head of Marketing with PR, monitoring of press coverage and ensuring press material is up to date; • Production and circulation of internal newsletters containing information regarding business development within the company; • Negotiating with suppliers for promotional material during events;• Monitoring and improving the firms visability in search results using Google Analytics as well as analysing competitors in keyword searches.

I successfully completed a one year internship with Byng Systems, taken as part of my sandwich degree course in Advertising and Marketing Communications at De Montfort University.Byng Systems is a technical agency and software development house who specialise in building complex web applications and software to manage products, people and processes. Byng work with many creative and advertising agencies partnering with them to deal with the complex technical components to their briefs. Byng provide quality assured applications which are robust, reliable and of high quality, and have been involved with and completed projects for clients such as Virgin, BT, Pernod-Ricard, Unilever through working collaboratively with agencies like Hyper Naked, Workclub, BBH and Jacob Bailey to name a few.My role at Byng included generating new business through various different methods, managing the sales process, maintaining and managing relationships with existing and potential clients, account management of new leads, business opportunities and projects, developing marketing campaigns and brand awareness, researching and telephoning new agencies, establishing meetings, and presenting Byng as a company in introductory meetings and events.My role also involved keeping certain databases such as Capsule (Byng's CRM) up to date as well as creating a weekly sales forecast and summary, and revising all of Byng's social networking site profiles such as Twitter, Facebook and Linked In to improve brand awareness and generate interest.
