A large, outstanding inner-city school in Leeds, England, where I taught children with different cultural backgrounds, children for whom English was an additional language and children who had varying levels of need. I taught a mixed nursery and reception class in a large setting of 140 pupils. The early years setting adopted a Reggio Emilia inspired approach to teaching and learning, enabling me to foster my creativity, questioning skills and promote in the children, a love of learning. The children within my class made outstanding progress. My approach in the classroom is inclusive, placing the children at the centre of every experience.
