Criminal Justice graduate from Michigan State University, who is passionate about America's correctional system. Throughout my collegiate career I focused on the corrections process and the obvious flaws that it has. This lead me to learning about and becoming certified in facilitating restorative conferences through the International Institute for Restorative Practices. This allowed me to speak with inmates in a correctional facility on a weekly basis where I was able to learn about their struggles, needs and ideas to make a better, more reformative, and reintigrative process for these inmates once they have completed their sentencing. I also had the opportunity to work as a Juvenile Probation Officer with a local court that allowed me to utilize what I learned through restorative justice and put it into practice with the cases that I had.
