Having graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology I progressed into housing through the National GEM Programme. During this time I completed my Chartered Institute of Housing Level 4 Qualification for the Housing Profession, whilst gaining valuable practical experience within the sector. Following my internship I continued to work with Gentoo for a number of years, during which I undertook an array of research and policy projects, developing key analytical, data interpretation and report writing skills. I continued with my specialism in policy when I moved to Home Group, drawing on my eye for detail to develop, monitor and maintain organisational policies, ensuring the policies comply with regulatory and legal requirements. I spent some of my time specifically focusing on policy compliance, driving a rationalisation agenda, whilst ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. I managed and continuously improved the policy governance framework to reflect best practice whilst embedding compliance with policy. My current role requires a broader understanding of risk, compliance and policy governance. I advise, monitor and help test Home Groups compliance with applicable laws and regulations, supporting policy and risk owners to manage their risks and responsibilities. During my time at Home Group I have supported the organisation through a number of regulatory assessments.
