As the Vice President of Chapter Operations, I am in charge of the internal activities of the chapter. I keep track of attendance so I am in constant communication with members to make sure each one is in good standing with the requirements of the organization and notifying anyone if their involvement needs to improve. During meetings, I present information about any updates going on with the chapter and record minutes for documentation.As a member of Delta Sigma Pi, I am very involved with recruitment process. I interview potential new members and discuss with members if they would be a good fit for the Chapter. This process can sometimes lead to disagreement within members, so it is important to maintain a level head throughout the process.

In this position, I coordinated and publicized community service events that adhere to organizational mission to produce community within the Chapter. It was difficult to encourage members to participate, so that lead to problem solving in order to encourage participation in community service events.

I am a member of the Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity where members volunteer for various philanthropic organizations to support the Richmond community such as Woodland Cemetery, United 2 Heal, and Feed More. I enjoy this organization because it allows me to get involved in my community by helping me make connections with people at Richmond and meet more people outside of the school.

I interned at Enterprise Products Partners L.P. in their regulated distribution department where I was taught how to run a pipeline. I learned how to create nightly orders and forecast future schedules. I also covered one of the pipelines when schedulers were out of the office. I was given the responsibility of updating the schedule every morning and debriefing any updates about the pipeline during meetings.I was given the summer-long project of model creation. I created formulas that will be used byschedulers to forecast truck demand for the largest truck terminals on two pipelines. To begin thisproject, I discussed with employees what variables they believed could impact truck demand. I thenresearched every variable to find historical data. I calculated the correlation between each variable andloading values to determine which variables would produce accurate results. Lastly, I ran regressionanalyses to determine the equation. As part of the project, I gave a twenty-minute presentation toemployees at Enterprise to discuss the evolution of my project and defend the formulas that I created.I also had smaller projects that I completed throughout the summer. I updated and redesignedone of the pipeline’s model designs. I removed and added pieces of information to ensure allinformation about the pipeline was accurate and available in one location to create efficiency andconvenience.Another task I was given during the summer was to lead the weekly Scheduling / Commercial /Operations meeting. These meetings are an opportunity for schedulers to discuss their pipeline withother employees. As the lead of the meeting, it was my job to keep everyone on topic and keep themeeting moving along smoothly.

During this internship, I worked as a member of the tax team. I continued with tasks that I did the year before. I summarized large amounts of tax data from schedule K-3 forms and state income tax data into tax schedules in Excel for preparation of entity tax returns. I also identified tax data in K-1 forms in data extraction software, Canoe Intelligence. Since it was my second year at this internship, I was given more responsibility to assist in preparation of simple entity tax returns using CCH Axcess.

During my time in this position, I helped run and update the Gamma Eta Chapter website and Instagram to promote the ideals of the sorority and attract new members. I also collaborated with the other people on the PR and marketing team to create merchandise to distribute to Chapter members.

I worked as a member of the tax team in the family office. As part of the team, it was my job to identify tax data in data extraction software, Canoe Intelligence. The office was trying to convert to Canoe and have the software extract information automatically. For the computer to remember the patterns of the documents, you have to extract it manually first. I also summarized large amounts of data from tax forms into Excel spreadsheets.I assisted the financial accounting team by adding transactional support to entries in accounting software, filing large amounts of accounting data, and reconciling accounting entries for format consistency. In this role, I acted both as an intern and as a secretary of the office. The previous secretary left the office right as I arrived and the replacement did not arrive until after I left. Therefore, I fulfilled daily administrative needs such as monitoring inventory levels of office products, managing inbound calls, and greeting visitors.

During my time at sweetgreen, I completed two jobs. I began my time fulfilling online orders. To do so, I had to follow specific directions as per the ticket sheet. In this position, I had to communicate with employees and customers to ensure the proper orders were being created and given to customers. This helped me learn how to work in a collaborative environment. Eventually, I changed positions to serve customers in the front of the restaurant which helped me develop customer service skills through creating salads. There were many times where this sweetgreen location would run out of ingredients, so I had to learn how to navigate dissatisfied customers and help make their experience as good as possible.
