During the new employee training at O’Reilly, I worked with manipulating servlets and connected them to applications. With this MVC application I wrote Java, Grails, and SQL to manipulated forms and databases. After my new employee training finished, I began training on a different track that focused specifically on User Interface. I then started learning how the company structures their webpages and how they keep their user interface consistent across all O’Reilly sites. During this time, I learned how to use Dojo, a JavaScript toolkit, to create web interfaces. I first mocked-up the page using Balsamiq, a wireframing tool, then used a combination of HTML, CSS, Twitter Bootstrap, and Dojo to create the pages. Using Spring Tool Suite and MVC, an architectural pattern, I created pages that will be used as a reference for other members of the O'Reilly Team.

During the two years I worked as a Digital Communications/Website Intern for First Baptist Church, I created a multitude of website banners and graphics to help promote events going on within the church. I was also in charge of sending weekly emails created using MailChimp, and arranged the weekly bulletins, bi-monthly newsletters, and weekly slideshows to be shown before the church service.

As a Web Design Wizard, I helped with designing webpages for their website on WordPress, and helped keep those web pages up to date.

My job is to create mockups and wireframes for future website pages and to then turn these mockup designs into actual webpages by coding and implementing the designs.

As a shift manager, I was in charge of an average of 5 employees, age ranging from 15 - 50. I reconciled accounts at the end of shifts, and sought to make sure that our average of 500 customers per day received prompt and accommodating service.
