Seasonal work within a small, well-run establishment that required team working skills often and to be well utilised in order to ensure good conduct of the business. Good communication skills were paramount, not only to maintain practical functioning of the business, but to enable honesty and good rapport within the small team, in turn, enabling us to work exceptionally hard and to a great standard. A remarkable work ethic was needed to achieve high standards during long days, where attention to detail regarding quality of products and complex machinery could not waiver.

Seasonal residential role. I maintained 4 roles whilst working here: EFL Teacher, House Tutor including Well-being Adviser, Primary First Aider, and General Assistant. A complex wealth of skills were needed to conduct my roles to a good standard, a standard of which I excelled gaining praise from both international parents, their children, and my superiors. Ultimately, this was reflected in the advancement of my class through the teaching levels and their final exams. The skill I utilised most and excelled in was the ability to analyse and reflect on my methods for both the classroom environment and for each individual child. With this, I was able to adjust my methods to suit each individual and gain progress. However, progress was not my ultimate goal, but instead to enable each child to overcome any academic or personal obstacles to allow their own personal progress, consequently enabling their English language progress.

This role improved my customer service skills through tasks such as operating the cashiers desks and aiding those looking for a specific item; I also improved my ability to create meaningful rapport and conversation with customers, earning their positive reports to my superiors and thus their recognition. My ability to work in a team was paramount to the running of the store and to ensure the best experience for our customers. Organisational skills and attention to detail regarding the products was required to maintain the rigorous system already established.

As a 'Patroller', I was entrusted with the responsibility to ensure the safety of pupils aged 11-18 whilst maintaining proper behaviours according to the rules in place. This was upheld, however, due to my ability to create rapport and become non-judgemental and understanding, my role developed over time to incorporate the emotional and psychological well-being of the pupils, often requiring safeguarding knowledge and referral. Conversely, my ability to handle difficult and challenging situations allowed me to mediate and calm conflicts and discrepancies in a highly efficient yet compassionate way.

Organisational skills and attention to detail in often extreme time constraints was required and improved alongside my knowledge and understanding of people due to the wealth of differing experiences I encountered.
