Core roles and responsibilities as an assistant in the Online Display Team include campaign planning, set up and activation, client reporting and the financial management process. Campaign planning involves knowledge of the market and current media opportunities as well as basic competencies across research tools used in the day-to-day planning of campaigns and new business reviewing clients and their competitors. Campaign set up and activation spans from briefing the tech team on new client set up for reporting accounts and dashboards. As well as briefing teams in house the role also requires the briefing of clients and creative agencies for creative assets extending to checking assets upon receipt, leading to the production of media plans for the development of tags. Activation involves passing tags and assets to relevant media owners, confirming insertion orders and bookings and that the campaign is live. Campaign reporting includes the daily, weekly and monthly client reporting dependent on requirements. Ensuring KPI's a hit and that activity is paced correctly throughout. Using DFA data and GA tracking with clients slowly moving over to automated dashboards to create a more seamless process within the team. Financial management covers the knowledge of client terms of business, tracking costs and managements fees in order to plan and bill correctly. A key role is the reconciliation of clients at the close of months and period (client specific). Ensuring figures are collated from media owners, reported on to client teams and clients with bookings listed on DDS and drafts checked promptly for errors. Clients include Hillarys Blinds, Web Blinds, Blind Supermarket, RANK Digital Gaming (Grosvenor Casinos & Mecca Bingo), International Motors (Subaru, Isuzu and Great Wall) Beauty Bay, Manchester Business School, Benenden Health Care, New Balance, Flamingo Land and Bahlsen.

Whilst working at Millennium Estates for only a short period I saw the company growth in both offerings to clients, staff and also see a compete overhaul of the company from not only the overall mantra but to fresh offices and a full rebrand! The initial role as Lettings Administrator was to provide potential applicants, applicants, tenants, vendors, prospective buyers and buyers with a friendly, helpful, honest and efficient attitude both face-to-face, over the telephone and also via email. A key part of the role was representing Millennium Estates during house viewings and usually the first engagement the applicant, vendor, landlord or buyer has with the company. A strong knowledge of the Millenniums values, processes and knowledge of location and property was crucial to complete this aspect of the job. Phil received a number of recommendations from tenants, applicants and landlord on my friendly and professional approach.
Digital Media Assistant
During my placement year from The University of Salford I interned at Carat Manchester under the Amplifi brand within the Online Display Team. The role included setting up media plans for trafficking through an external source, Paragon. After completing the activation of the campaign running daily, weekly and monthly reports though DoubleClick (for advertisers) and Insight reporting (an in-house dashboard) on all core KPIs, helping to determine future performance against current delivery but also for forecasting for the future. All reports presented in excel with additional written commentary to accompany on the on going activity and campaign optimisation’s made. The role also included running competitor reports via ComScore developing charts and graphs based on clients competitors usually used to compare clients activity to competitors or with helping new clients understanding what their competitors are currently doing and as a key role for new business pitches. I often attended meetings with the client services teams to discuss on-going and potential campaigns, different ways to approach activities and improvements to campaigns, sometimes this would lead on to meeting and calls with clients. Other meetings included media owner updates and new marketing opportunity meetings. Clients included GHD, Manchester United, The Barratt National Group, Manchester Airport Group, Home Retail Group, Thomas Cook Group, Netflights, Neilson Holidays, Liverpool ONE, Manchester Arndale and Travelex.
