I have had the pleasure to work alongside Dr. Gokila Dorai through both of my publications, as well as with the new research project we have begun in August 2022. Most recently, I was the first author on our paper “Preliminary Analysis of Privacy Implications Observed in Social-Media Posts Across Shopping Platforms”, which I virtually presented for at the ARES (International Conference on Availability, Reliability and Security) 2022 Conference. I examined the privacy implications observed in branded hashtags used on social media, namely Instagram, and conducted a preliminary analysis considering cyberstalking as one of the avenues that an anonymous stalker may use to impact the social-media user negatively. This was conducted by following the trails on online shopping platforms' product listings, consumer reviews, social-commerce policies, and user posts. Before that, from August 2021 to January 2022, I worked alongside our team to publish “Privacy-Preserving Framework to Facilitate Shared Data Access for Wearable Devices”, which was presented at the 2021 IEEE International Conference on Big Data. Here, my primary tasks were to bridge a Blockchain API to Python and to connect the Python application to a database using SQLite.
