At Apex, I manage the business functions supporting our engineers. A lot of my time is spent identifying strategic opportunities to enhance workflow, then implementing the changes needed to realize those efficiencies. I'm working with the firm's Principals to develop strategic financial objectives for the organization as we continue to grow and expand. I’ve brought Apex high quality staff with the right skills at the right time to excel in our markets. Headcount has quadrupled since I moved into my role. Once we've got the right people on board, I make sure the benefits we have in place are competitive and actively promote our Total Rewards approach to compensation that doesn't stop at payroll. Risk management is another part of my role at Apex. I oversee the company's insurance lines, including property, liability, workers compensation, E&O, D&O, EPLI and other policies according to business needs. On the side, I also maintain the Apex website ensuring content is current.

During my time at Cerner, my favorite project was designing and programming an interactive recommendation engine to assist associates in selecting between 12 different health plan options.I also created presentation on health plan design featured as a cornerstone of the Health Economy Showcase at the 2007 Cerner Health Conference. Researched health plan design and practices creating comparison of Cerner to major area employers for recruiting and retention of associates.When Cerner decided to participate in the national Drive Against Prostate Screening event, I built the scheduling and reporting tool we used for the event using MS Access, VisualBasic, and SQL.

My team and I utilized Adobe Creative Suite to develop professional advertisements and publications to promote Career Center events and activities. I was promoted to Design Team Leader and was in charge of organizing weekly team meetings and work load for 4 design team members.In addition to the design team, I worked on the Career Center's Mock Interview team. I was the lead interviewer for nursing and computer science majors due to my work experience and skill set.
