In addition to the standard strategic activity of the HRBP role, I have supported the System Operator through a large scale organisational design process, the legal separation of the Electricity System Operator, including the TUPE transfer of c.650 employees, and separation of the Gas System Operator business.

Solihull

Focusing on National Grid SMART, Metering and NGV Support Functions, I was responsible for supporting the senior leadership team with people strategies that support their overall business plan. Utilising specialist HR teams to support delivery of initiatives including: • Talent management – identification, development, and succession planning. • Organisational design – structural design around business objectives, consultation, appointment process and outplacement where necessary. • Employee relations strategy and forums – long term ER strategy and supporting tactical plan including relationship management. • Terms and Conditions – utilisation, compliance with, and future strategy for pay and reward frameworks• Inclusion and diversity – identification of priorities and tactical plan to support change. • Tactical resourcing and long term work force planning. • Employee engagement – in line with Employee Relations strategy and annual surveys. • Change Management • Performance management – annual performance cycles and under performance. • Performance Excellence • Case Management – support on cases as necessary, including sickness, grievance and disciplinary.

During my three years supporting the Operational Business my role was to support the Operations Director and the senior Management Team with strategic HR planning and activities. This included supporting the Transformation programme that focused on delivering greater productivity at reduced cost. Key projects included implementing a new organisational design and redesigning and negotiating the Field Force (c.2000 FTE's) Terms and Conditions.

My role was to develop and implement recruitment and resourcing strategies to meet significant growth requirements expected within the energy Transmission business for the coming years. Recruiting predominantly for experienced and professional Engineers within Power Systems, Substations, Commissioning and Construction.Delivering recruitment strategy design and implementation in line with best practice and legislation - from attraction, employer brand and sourcing, through to selection tools and techniques. I lead a team of Recruitment Consultants aligned by business area, to deliver recruitment requirments in line with annaul resource plans. SHL Level A & B qualified.

Responsible for managing scholarship students that were part of the IET Power Academy. Including annual 8 week summer placements, coordinating and attending university careers fairs and building and maintaining relationships with universities and students in line with 'feeding our talent pipeline'. During my time in this role the conversion rate to graduate scheme on year was 100%, and we were runner up for an award recognising student placements. Supported attractions and end to end recruitment process for Young Offenders Programme, Apprentices, Foundation Engineers, and Graduates.

Northampton

Lead a team of 3 who were responsible for scheduling and delivering training to the Gas Distribution buisness. Including scheduling technical training by third parties, and delivery of in house training courses. Development, delivery and governance of training materials.

Hinckley

During this time I spent 3 months on the Emergency Call Centre, 18 months working in Emergency and Planned dispatch, and then worked on a project developing and delivering training on new dispatch systems and for employees at a newly opened site.
