If you don't want to spend too much time on the road we can organise an itinerary based in Fort Dauphin Tulear or Tana.Miremby's trips take the slow road, allowing time to interact with people and wildlife along the way so that you can experience the culture and immerse yourself in the environment while giving back to the communities you meet. We work closely with local communities and guides ensuring them a fair and sustainable wage.

PhD candidate studying the movement of Eulemur collaris in Sainte Luce, Madagascar. I have just finished a 17 month stint carrying out data collection in a remote field-station. I collected 1382h of behavioural and over 1400 GPS points of movement data. Carrying out three, 12h night (6pm - 6am) and three 12hr day (6am - 6pm) surveys for two groups of lemurs.Movement data was collected, recording GPS locations every 5 min. Also collecting plant nutritional information, for ever food item eaten by both groups of lemurs. Drone footage of the habitat was collected to understand the habitat quality and the impact of deforestation on lemur movement. Throughout my PhD I have demonstrated project management, leadership of a multi-disciplinary, and multi-nationality team. Securing grants from the Leakey Foundation and ReWild both prestigious American foundations. I have excelled at working remotely in difficult conditions, carrying out research that hasn't previously been collected.

I was a research assistant helping to collect behavioural data on Night monkeys using acoustic monitoring. Surveys happened from 5am - 10 am and then from 4pm - 10pm.

I spent 7 weeks learning Spanish at San Blas Spanish School. Learning in a group environment as well as having individual classes. I travelled and lived independently when attending Spanish school, immersing myself in the Peruvian culture

The internship gave me experience and certification to lead: - Butterfly surveys (traps and transects)- Amphibian surveys (pitfalls and transects)- Point count (birds and mammals)- Primate surveys - Mist-netting (birds and bats)After three months training I became staff and took on responsibility for Butterfly surveys. This involved: - Preparing all the equipment, - Rotation of the surveys - Recording and handling data. - Writing up each survey - Giving a weekly round up in the staff meetings. Being in-charge of this survey was very rewarding and focused my passion for topical butterflies.I found the work with volunteers very satisfying, as well as leading volunteers on surveys in the forest, I took on responsibility for training volunteers in identifying the species they would encounter. Through this work I recognised that the ID guides being used were not fit for purpose and took on an additional project redesigning the volunteer identification test. This project entailed using my creative skills and knowledge of the species and coordination with all staff and the delivery of a visually pleasing and accessible guide that allowed all types of learners to be successful.
