The American Legion denies girls in its only coeducational Boys and Girls State the opportunity to attend Boys Nation solely on the basis of gender. As an advocate for equality, I lead a campaign to end discrimination at Boys Nation and end decades long inequity between Boys State/Nation and Girls State/Nation.- Lobbied the California Senate and Assembly to secure the support of over 30 legislators who represent millions. Fostered relationships with numerous organizations, securing the support of numerous entities, including the State Commission on the Status of Women and Girls. - Meeting with Congressional offices to discuss the role of federal legislation in promoting gender equality.

I serve on the San Mateo County (SMC) Youth Commission, an advisory committee to the Board of Supervisors, where I promote youth centered initiatives and policy in my community. -The County Board of Education appointed me as the sole Youth Commission liaison. I sit at official Board meetings with its elected members. There, I provide input on decisions that impact hundreds of youth in the court and community schools that the Board oversees.- As a believer in the importance of the arts, I am a liaison to the County Arts Commission to support a vibrant artistic community. I assisted with developing an online calendar of arts and culture programming visited by thousands, drafted bylaws for the Arts Commission, and created legislative advocacy guidelines for use in lobbying on a countywide, statewide, and federal level.

YPE is a 501(c)(3) nonpartisan organization promoting political involvement through educational and artistic initiatives. I promote our mission through creative outreach, effective leadership, and the support of our wonderful community. - We've provided hundreds of members of the public an opportunity to learn about politics and government and make free artwork to express their unique perspective at events such as the San Mateo Countywide Celebration of the Arts and the Daly City Art and Lit Fest. - YPE has organized and hosted a candidate forum featuring candidates for various levels of public office.
