Providing superior, solid, experienced Risk Management, Patient Safety, and Professional Liability direction for the largest physician group in Oklahoma encompassing the Faculty, Residents, and Students for the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine as well as hospital entity, OU Medicine, Inc. Services include: ongoing risk management direction to physicians and staff; evaluation of matters to support the increase of safety to patients in all areas of the enterprise; peer review investigation and administration; claims management of professional liability matters inclusive of establishing coverage, evaluating/investigating claims and suits, setting reserves, reporting to reinsurance and excess carriers, settlement evaluation, and directing litigation; negotiating claims and lawsuits; and monitoring all matters handled in the department for CMS compliance prior to and after indemnity payments.

Highly productive member of a third party administrator claims team handling catastrophic losses involving Medical Malpractice, Nursing Home, General Liability, Business Auto, Construction Defect, and Non Subscriber lawsuits and claims for several national accounts. The coordination of these matters involved evaluation of coverage over multiple policies and lines of business; reporting directly to the carriers/clients; investigation of claims; coordination of legal defense; and when warranted, settling matters within the authority granted by the individual carrier/client via mediation or direct contact with the plaintiff/claimant.

Member of a small, elite, national claims team focused on providing top of the market service to policy holders in Medical Malpractice and General Liability losses for physicians in solo and small practices. Management of these matters included evaluation of coverage under occurrence and claims made policies; investigation of claims; setting reserves; reporting to reinsurance and excess carriers; coordination of legal defense; and when warranted, settling matters via mediation or direct contact with the plaintiff/claimant and or counsel. This carrier provided coverage to all 50 states, Guam and Puerto Rico allowing the opportunity for extensive knowledge of several state and territory laws and statutes.

Provided experienced claims handling of Workers' Compensation claims and suits for various industries. Handling of these matters included verification of coverage; investigation of claims; setting reserves; paying losses pursuant to the state code and schedule; and negotiating settlements.

Provided risk management and loss prevention services to over 60 retail stores, corporate office, and two fixed site warehouse locations. Oversaw and directed insurance carriers in claims and suits related to General Liability, Workers' Compensation, and Business Auto losses. Coordinated and kept OSHA logs, participated in safety committee meetings for the main location, and provided support to the Director of Risk Management and Loss Prevention.
