CurrentI am incredibly proud to both live in and work for the City of Chandler, AZ. I have met the most amazing, dedicated employees who support the City and Community in such a myriad of ways. It has opened my eyes to services that I previously took for granted; ex: streets and clean up following storms, available water coming from our taps, public safety, caring for our citizens and people experiencing homelessness, and our wonderful museums and libraries.I am responsible for the development, implementation, presentation, and measurement of learning initiatives in support of the City's strategic goals. Focus areas include: leadership development, talent and performance management, diversity and inclusion, and employee engagement strategies and initiatives through both group and individual settings. My role is aligned to my passion - helping to develop others to excel in both their professional and personal lives. So many of the learning activities in the workplace cross over into our home lives. I am fortunate to be able to work with every department in the City; Chandler has amazing people in every area. I love what I do!One of my proudest accomplishments has been designing, implementing, and managing the City’s Mentor Program. Employees from all over the City apply and get matched with a mentor to help them focus on their specific goals. City employees/proteges mentor with other employees that they might not have ever had the opportunity to meet under their normal job duties; example: a City planner with a Recreation specialist, a Public Works field technician with a Fire Battalion Chief, etc. My absolute joy comes from working with employees in a 1:1 setting; discussing career plans and ideas, developing goal plans, recommending professional development workshops, and performing resume reviews and practice interviews. When an employee reaches their goal (whether it be a promotion, job change, or education goals), I love to celebrate their success!
