As Executive Director of the International Chiropractors Association, Ms. Clay is working to protect and promote chiropractic worldwide; to remove barriers to access chiropractic, especially in US federal programs Medicare, at the VA, DOD and health system-wide. As a lifelong recipient of chiropractic care, Ms. Clay appreciates the value and importance on a personal level. As someone who scours the peer-reviewed scientific literature, she appreciates the traditional principles and values of the chiropractic profession which delivers a safe, effective, and evidence-informed approach to chiropractic care. She also participates with the Integrative Health Policy Consortium (IHPC) on federal policy and Co-Chairs the Bioenergy and Health Committee. Ms. Clay is an established expert in alternative, complementary, and integrative health policy and related fields. She also has extensive experience in issues related to autism spectrum disorders, veterans’ health services, and palliative care. Further, Ms. Clay has extensive experience in investigating subject matter and technical writing in a broad range of subjects. While primarily focused on health policy issues, Ms. Clay also has consulted on areas related to business and project development in the Middle East and the Caribbean, the energy sector, and FDA regulated devices.Ms. Clay is a former Senior Professional Staff Member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Committee on Government Reform and its Subcommittee on Human Rights and Wellness. While on Capitol Hill, Ms. Clay served as a Member of the U.S. Delegation to the CODEX Alimentarius Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Uses.
