I am an anthropologist and independent consultant, currently researching team dynamics in interdisciplinary crop improvement collaborations and social inclusion for agricultural development. I have an MA in Research Methods and a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Durham, UK. My PhD research used participatory video (PV) as a method for collaborative ethnographic enquiry with pastoralists in the Rift Valley of Ethiopia. Following my PhD I worked for the CGIAR on a number of applied agricultural development and natural resource management projects. My work involved developing methods to enable socially inclusive and collaborative research processes. This included facilitating multi-stakeholder innovation platforms and experimenting with participatory video, companion modelling and participatory 3D mapping together with smallholder farmers and other stakeholders. More recently I worked as postdoctoral research fellow on the ERC-funded project Monsoon Assemblages, an interdisciplinary exploration of relations between changing monsoon climates and neoliberal urban growth in three South Asian cities (Chennai, Dhaka and Yangon).
