I reviewed and approved the in-house design team’s work for all 3 divisions, as well as mentored and guided them through projects and design technicalities. I was also the lead designer for all things Furniture Mart and The Mattress Co., with the focus of my work being producing the Furniture Mart print catalog. When between catalog productions, I also hopped back in to help the team with various promotion materials for all channels.

Having pivoted from designing the traditional channels for our Unclaimed Freight and Furniture Mart branches, I am now responsible for all things Furniture Mart, including our recent brand re-design. From fonts to colors to layout to overall look and feel, it’s been a fun project working with our dynamic in-house shot photography to bring this brand to life. Direct mail cards, posters, newspaper print and digital versions, store signage, open-to-buy letter, website graphics when needed, emails, digital ads, site assets, paid social, billboards, magazine ads - anything to do with the Furniture Mart brand and I’ve likely created it! While expansion is always in the horizon, collaborating on new store interior design and signage has been fun to explore recently as well.

Okoboji, Ia

I managed and created content for The Marina District, which consists of Parks Marina, The Barefoot Bar, Okoboji Boat Works and O'Farrell Sisters. I scheduled social media posts, including photos and videos I would shoot daily, on all four Facebook pages, Instagram profiles, Twitter pages, Snapchat and managed the YouTube channel. I also updated the website with new and used boat sales, apparel sales, events and news releases using Joomla. Boat owner parties, invites and t-shirts were also planned and designed, as well as all marketing collateral, from business cards and boat rental pamphlets to menus, signs and banners. Each week, I designed and executed one or two emails regarding boat brands, apparel, dining and any entertainment going on in the Marina District using Constant Contact. We also have a monthly newsletter that gets mailed out that I would design front to back. With The Barefoot Bar being a large staple in the area, we sell a lot of apparel that I assisted with by buying blanks, designing screen prints, and managing inventory using DockMaster.

Brookings, South Dakota

I worked in the Creative Services department of Daktronics, an LED video, messaging and scoreboard company. I mainly watched over the process of the animation projects that they would work on for clients to play on their boards. I assisted in the internal project flow and conversed with the client on due dates and approvals. I also made content guides for clients to help them see where their boards were located in the facility and how the animations would look and be played on the board(s).
