While I was at Global Lifting Services Nigeria Ltd, I worked with the Rotary Equipment (Bottom-Hole Assembly) inspection department primarily and part of my job roles were:• Tested products or sub-assemblies such as for functionality or quality and colour coding to show their performance levels. • Carried out visual inspections on tools, materials and equipment used by clients such as slings, lifting tools, the drillstring (consists of the bit, bit sub, stabilizers, heavy‐weight drill pipes and crossovers), flanges and Blow‐out preventors (BOP). • Carryied out routine, electromagnetic (EMT), magnetic particle inspection (MPI), ultra‐sonic (UT) tests (each of the tests where applicable) on tools, materials and equipment used by clients such as slings, pad-eyes of offshore baskets, Lifting tools, bits, bit subs, stabilizers, heavy‐weight drill pipes, crossovers and flanges and checking if it passes the allowable level of stress, fatigue and failure.
