Volunteers can play and integral part in any organisation. My role is to look at which areas we would most benefit from volunteer support and to recruit train and coordinate volunteers throughout the young persons and adult services in Luton.

St Johns offers all aspects of palliative care to patients both at the hospice and in the community. As Voluntary services coordinator I am responsible for 300 volunteers covering all areas of volunteering and departments at the hospice.Working as part of the HR (people) my role covers HR, Education, PR, Events management and Fundraising initiatives.

I undertook this 18 Month secondment to the National Sue Ryder volunteering team to drive volunteer engagement and development within H&SC in order to enhance service user experience and support health care centres to engage with a volunteer workforce
