Elizabeth A. Fegan founded Fegan Scott LLC in 2019 to focus on class actions and high-stakes contingent fee litigation. She has led the #metoo movement in the courts, fighting for restitution for women abused by Harvey Weinstein and female students who were mistreated by a USC gynecologist in the student health center. Her practice includes a variety of complex class-actions and high-stakes individual cases in the areas of sex abuse, antitrust, consumer protection and product liability. Since 2002, she has recovered more than $1 billion for the benefit of consumers and victims nationwide. Ms. Fegan has successfully tailored creative results for the benefit of nationwide classes. For example, Ms. Fegan settled a nationwide class action alleging sexual harassment on behalf of 16,000 current and former female employees of a commercial property brokerage firm. In addition to requiring changes to human resources policies and procedures, the innovative settlement afforded class members the opportunity to participate in a stream-lined claims process that provides the potential for individual awards up to $150,000 per class member. Before Fegan Scott, Beth and her husband Tim launched the Chicago office for Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro, which Ms. Fegan led for 15 years. She also was a partner at The Wexler Firm in Chicago, and served as a legal writing instructor at the Loyola University Chicago School of Law. While previously practicing at Shefsky & Froelich, Ltd. in Chicago, Ms. Fegan served in several local government appointments and on Special Master teams in federal and state court. The local government appointments included positions as special assistant corporation counsel to the City of Chicago, the Chicago Park District and the Public Building Commission of Chicago.
