Since 2009, I have been translating museum, art and heritage tourism content from Portuguese and Spanish into my native language, British English. I have translated for exhibitions on subjects ranging from Ancient Egyptian artefacts to the Age of Discovery, as well as multiple facets of modern and contemporary art, including painting, photography, sculpture, installation and architecture, and my work has appeared in a number of prestigious museums and galleries in Lisbon.If you want to capture and hold the attention of an international audience, you need to provide information and content in English – even visitors with other native languages often rely on English when they visit Spain and Portugal. Since then, I have translated four novels: Open Door, by Argentinian author Iosi Havilio, in 2011, followed by its sequel, Paradises, in 2013 (And Other Stories); Ten Women, by Marcela Serrano, in 2014 (Amazon Crossing), and We All Loved Cowboys, by Carol Bensimon, published in 2018 by Transit Books. I have also translated several short stories, excerpts, TV scripts and theatre plays.
