I work closely with interaction designers, visual designers, UX researchers, creative technologists, product owners and legal and compliance partners to develop the best user experience possible. Through understanding the needs and perspectives of the team, I can craft engaging and straightforward content. My responsibilities include planning and writing content for digital assets including websites, mobile apps, alerts and emails. I particularly enjoy breaking down complex financial concepts and explaining them in consumer-friendly language. Financial well-being should be accessible to everyone, and it’s my goal to make that possible through inclusive content.

As an editor at WhiteSpace (the creative agency at Abbott Nutrition), I proofread and edited creative collateral including catalogs, brochures, press releases, coupons, ads, in-store displays, and other documents as needed. Each Abbott product line had brand-specific guidelines, and it was my job to ensure those guidelines were followed. I also corrected errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation, composition, and format to ensure collateral was professional and accurate. Like any creative agency, clear and concise communication with project managers, copywriters, and designers improved work flow.

As a content editor, it was my job to ensure that every course we created was tailored to our clients needs, followed established guidelines, and was accurately built in an online learning management system. I worked in both Blackboard and Franklin University's proprietary software BlueQuill.The work I did was multifold. Typically, it began with reviewing and collaborating on course content with instructional designers to ensure ease of student use. From there, I proofed the course and updated relevant templates to ensure a consistent product was delivered across different courses to the same client. The last stages including building courses in an online learning management system and conducting quality reviews of other editors' builds.

The summer writing camp at the Thurber House is an amazing place to be, both for the students that come and the counselors and teachers that are lucky enough to work with them. Aspiring writers of all ages (2nd through 8th grade) come for a week of classes, activities, quite a bit of silliness, and a whole lot of writing!As a camp counselor, I worked directly with a group of about ten campers each week. In addition to getting campers to the various writing workshops on time, mitigating conflicts, and making sure everyone was having a good time, I also taught one workshop each week, helped campers with their stories, and gave them plenty of ideas for when they had "writer's block." As a teacher, I created fun and engaging writing activities for campers of all ages.
