As a Creative Industries Producer, I support and develop emerging and mid-career talent from all communities to work and excel across the creative and media industries. As a collaborator and strategic leader working across festivals, broadcast media, creative technologies, and Higher Education, I'm involved in creative indusrty projects that embrace, encourage and promote innovation, creativity, and learning. I have a strong commitment to equality, inclusion and diversity. As former Director of Broadcast Media, Creative Director of Media City, and Director of Creative Technologies, Journalism & Politics at The University of Salford, I led a team of over 50 staff members with over 2,000 students, delivering and writing a significant number of meda programmes/courses, working closely with the creative and media industries to gain their advice, engagement and input.I produce media events and festivals, such as RTS NW Student & Industry Networking Event, Nations and Regions Media Conference, Spot Light On, Production Unlocked (working with the BBC Academy for the University of Salford), and Exposures Film Festival. I collaborate with production companies, BBC North, ITV, Channel4 and work across conferences and festivals such as Edinburgh TV Festival and CMC. I was a key founder and board member of the successful 'We Invented the Weekend' Festival, with a focus on Media City and the communities of Salford and Greater Manchester. I'm passionate about leading and developing purposeful and sustainable partnerships between industry and Higher Education, and recently developed and led collaborations between Aardman, Black Magic and dock10 and The University of Salford. I understand the impact and value of collaborations and strategic partnerships across the creative industries, from production to creative innovation and technology.
