Library Rebuild Post-Disastero Leading the library through rebuild after Hurricane Ian, which saw 4 feet of water inside the library and over 3/4 of library staff leaving or retiring, including all of library management.o Provided patron services, including critical information on available community resources in the aftermath of a disaster through social media channels. o Committed to every step of the rebuilding process to ensure that the library proactively offered support and essential services to the community. o Worked tirelessly to reopen library doors as soon as possible, providing a space for the community to flourish and heal.Chaired Hiring Committeeso Successfully chaired several hiring committees.o Crafted comprehensive job descriptions and strategically placed job ads, ensuring recruitment efforts were targeted and effective. o Reviewed resumes and conducted candidate interviews, taking the lead in guiding selected candidates through the hiring process.o Oversaw the hiring and onboarding of five staff members, including two full-time librarians. Staff and Department Supervision o Manages a diverse staff of nine individuals spread over five different departments. o Responsibilities in providing guidance, support, supervision, and decision-making to ensure excellent customer service and optimal performance and collaboration between teams and departments.o Leading a comprehensive training program for seven newly hired staff members, with a focus on mentorship and team cohesion that seeks to deliver exceptional results to patrons.o Responsible for supervising the following departments: circulation; ILL; archives; children, youth, and teen services; reference; cataloging; collection development.
