I grew up in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, where my father worked in oil and gas production, and my mother was a schoolteacher. I began school with kindergarten in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and graduated from high school in Jakarta, Indonesia. In between, I attended school in Singapore and Balikpapan, Indonesia. My first mountain career included ten years as a financial statement auditor, followed by twenty-two years as a forensic accountant investigating complex fraud and white-collar crime schemes. For years, I fought corruption and bribery worldwide, working in more than thirty-five countries on behalf of multi-national companies investigated by various US regulatory agencies. Toward the end of my career, I lived and worked in Hong Kong for six years. I became a bestselling author by contributing a chapter about my life experience to the collaborative book "Step Into Your Brave: Uplifting Stories to Inspire Courage, Strength and Growth," published in October 2022.
