I am an event management professional with 10+ years of experience, specializing in the promotion of interactive digital experiences in the technology industry.I was drawn to the tech industry through my involvement with the International Game Developers Association. I saw the potential of video game development as a starting point to encourage young enthusiasts to consider pursuing a career in technology. I believe that improving access to careers in technology is one way to combat systemic poverty. Game development also offers a unique opportunity for new voices to be heard. I believe the immersive experience that games offer can help us to relate better to one another as we experience the world through other peoples' eyes. The greatest social impact can only be achieved by supporting developers from diverse backgrounds.I have founded, planned, and executed collaborative and educational events such as the Midwest Game Jam and Game Dev Day at The Works Museum. These events foster an inclusive community of game developers in the Midwest, and give children from under-served groups an opportunity to explore game development as a career.I’m committed to making technology careers more accessible to folks from historically disinvested communities, and believe in building authentic relationships with others who share my vision for the future of tech in Minnesota.
