Supported implementation of a per pupil funding model at the Los Angeles Unified School District. Utilized a user-centered approach to develop a core set of 11 online, self-paced training modules that support school leaders, district staff, and community stakeholders in program planning and budget development activities.

Cambridge, Ma

Worked with a 4-person development team on $500,000 annual fundraising event, Housewarming 2011. Recruited 18 local restaurants to participate in event. Supported team with theme, invitations, program, and live auction. Assisted with research and implementation of online giving system for ticket sales and general donations.

Worked with the Glastonbury Abbey to increase profit from earned income sources.Developed actionable recommendations to revise marketing, pricing, and business practices for existing revenue centers to increase net income by over $150,000 over three years.

Worked with senior fundraising staff to develop a plan for City Year to begin accepting planned gifts.This included interviewing professionals in the field to learn about best practices in planned giving; developing bequest language specific to City Year; editing the Gift Acceptance Policy; and drafting City Year's FY12 Planned Giving Operating Plan.

Los Angeles Unified School District (Lausd)

Created a template to review district-wide programs for one of the Superintendent's 4 major initiatives- Budgeting for Student Achievement. The program reviews will serve to help LAUSD understand how resources are allocated across the district and identify resources and flexibilities for schools.Conducted qualitative and quantitative reviews of 4 district-wide programs, including general program description, service provided to schools, student outcomes, funding sources and legal requirements, total budget, and cost per student.

Developed effective strategies for organizations to foster civic reflection on leadership, association, serving, and giving as a tactic to increase employee retention and satisfaction; these strategies were intended to introduce this process of reflection to key service organizations, such as Campus Compact, AmeriCorps, and state service commissions.

City Year unites young people of all backgrounds for a year of full-time service, giving them the skills and opportunities to change the world.Directed all aspects of Chicago's Young Heroes program as a successful youth leadership development initiative for 6-8th grade students including development of program goals, leading cultivation and management of community relationships, and strategic planning for the program's long-term sustainability.Assembled and led a task force of business and non-profit professionals to develop implementation strategy and identify resources for the prelaunch of City Heroes, the high school equivalent of Young Heroes; recruited a 15-member youth board to participate as youth advisors.Maintained 96% retention rate of 23 full-time AmeriCorps members.Contributed to the City Year national network. Selected for a 10-person team redesigning program curriculum and operational functions; led programming for the Young Heroes participants attending City Year's week-long annual convention; led and provided program initiatives and operation training to peers from more than 15 City Year regional offices.

Managed AmeriCorps member admission and selection process, securing a 3:1 applicant to confirmed AmeriCorps member ratio.
