As a Barista at Costa Coffee, my job entails serving customers with excellent customer service. I have gained skills in communication, as I serve a variety of customers and I have to ensure I speak clearly and concisely. I have become fully trained on the coffee machine, meaning I can make all of the drinks on the menu to a high standard. I had to learn this information quickly, developing my ability to quickly process information. As I have this job alongside my studies and my blog, I have had to ensure I develop my time-management skills so nothing falls behind.

I have been blogging on and off since September 2017, and have kept my current blog since January 2022. I blog about a variety of topics, mainly surrounding productivity and organisation, and life as a law student at university. Through my blog, I have been able to work with a variety of brands. These include Zebra Pen, Pilot Pens and Staedtler to name a few. Working with various brands has enabled me to gain and understanding in how brands come into contact and work together, and the legal basis behind them all

I undertook an internship under Dr Sarah Nason and Dr Sara Closs-Davies at Bangor University. This internship was a part of a research project, which looked at how people from different communities access social welfare law advice. My duties involved taking part in meetings, conducting research, and building on my time-management skills.

I volunteered once a week at my local citizens advice. I helped clients with a variety of enquiries, such as but not limited to: Debt; Housing; Benefits; Employment. I gained valuable skills from my time at Citizens Advice, including research skills, communication skills and time-management skills.

My role as a Zebra Pen Ambassador involved working with the team for promotional purposes. Zebra would send me products in exchange for promoting the brand. I used Instagram to do this and created reels, stories and posts showcasing the products. Time-management was needed for this as I had to create posts consistently whilst doing my degree and working.

I applied for the AS First scheme with Aspiring Solicitors and was accepted. This scheme was designed to give guidance to first year university students through a series of webinars and a CV review. Each webinar offered different bits of guidance catered to the process of applying to be a solicitor. This included application techniques, interview techniques and more. We took part in employability conferences and had the opportunity for one-to-one mentoring.

When I was an activities team member at Haven, I had to ensure that activities were delivered for guests. I was trained to do a variety of activities, such as Bungee Trampolines, Go Karts, Boats, Adventure Golf and Pic n Paint. I also had training on the tills to promote activities and serve guests. I had to ensure I was organised in order to run the activities, developing my organisational skills. I also developed communication skills, as I would be talking to guests of all ages, primarily children.
